FAQ

What is your Return Policy for incorrect or defective item(s)?
Please inspect your order upon receipt, as returns must be received within 21 days of the shipping date of the order. Washing the fabric constitutes acceptance of that item. We stand by the high quality of our products and service, but unfortunately mistakes do happen. If we have made a mistake on your order, or if you receive a defective item, please call/email us to obtain a return authorization. We will gladly issue a full refund (less original shipping charges) or a replacement upon receipt and verification of the item(s). Patterns, magazines, books or any printed materials as well as sale items are not returnable. We will not accept returns on items that have been altered in any way.  Fabric that has been washed or cut will not be accepted or refunded under any circumstances.

Returns will not be accepted on any item that was purchased from the Clearance category, was priced at or less than $6/per yard or was priced at least 50% off retail value.

A return is defined as any cancellation after an order has been placed in "Processing" status prior to shipping, or after a customer has received the fabric (such as refusal of the package, etc). For orders where the customer returns fabric for reasons other than a cutting mistake by us or manufacturing flaw, then a 15% restocking will be required. All return shipping fees are the responsibility of the customer. A refund minus shipping and the 15% restocking fee will be processed upon receipt of the fabric. It must be unwashed and uncut and in the same condition in which it was shipped to you.

I have less than 10 yards in my shopping cart, so why is my shipping cost estimated at more than the price of one flat rate envelope per your shipping policy?
This is due to an issue with our shopping cart software.  Though you can order any fabric yardage in fractional quantities (.5 yd, .75 yd, etc.), the system thinks that each cut is a value of 1 yard. For example, if you place an order for 8 yards of one fabric, shipping will calculate as one USPS flat rate envelope (FRE).  If you choose 16 cuts of fabric at 1/2 yard each, the cart thinks this is 16 yards vs. 8 yards and will charge for 2 FRE.  In this case, we will refund any excess shipping charges.

Is there a minimum fabric cut?
Yes, our standard minimum cut is (.5) yard.  The minimum is 1 yard on certain clearance fabrics.

How is the fabric yardage priced?
The price listed is for one full yard (36 inches) of fabric.

How are packages shipped?
All domestic packages are shipped via the United States Postal Service. The least expensive method, which is typically Priority Flat Rate, is used

Should I buy shipping insurance?
We strongly encourage this. The Quilted Castle will not be responsible for lost or stolen packages. If you would like to purchase extra insurance on a package, there will be an option for this at check-out. The actual insurance charge will be added to your total. If your package is being shipped internationally via flat rate envelope and you wish to receive insurance and tracking information, it will be necessary to upgrade to a flat rate box. Flat rate envelopes shipped within the United States are insurable.

How are the shipping charges calculated?
Shipping charges are calculated by the total combined weight of the order. While we make every attempt to keep our shipping calculations as accurate as possible, due to the range of our prices and our assortment of merchandise, it is sometimes necessary to make a manual adjustment to the shipping charge. In almost all cases, the charge is reduced in your favor. When ordering bulk weight (flannel, laminates) or wideback fabrics, it may be necessary to increase the shipping charge to the next option. If extra shipping charges are required we will contact you first before processing your order.

Do you ship internationally?
We do not ship anywhere outside of the United States due to Covid-related issues and delays.  Sorry for the inconvenience.

How is my fabric cut and packaged?
All orders are cut with accuracy to ensure you receive the correct yardage. Panels are scissor cut and almost all others are rotary cut. All fabrics are packaged in protective wrap/packaging so they are protected from dirt and odors during shipping.

How long does it take for my order to ship?
We make every attempt to ship all orders within 48 hours. A missing payment method or incorrect credit card information will delay shipment. Also, please include your full address. If we are not able to print a USPS shipping label using the address provided, your shipping time could increase.

What if I need to cancel my order?
We understand that orders need to be canceled from time to time and will do whatever we can to help.  However, we may not be able to cancel an order once it has started to be processed.  If you order has been moved to Processing but has not been cut then your order may be able to be canceled. However, if the order has been cut them we cannot cancel the order.

What payment methods do you accept?
We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express and PayPal.

I don't like sending information through the Internet. How else may I place an order?
You can reach out to us through the contact us page and we can work with you to help you complete your transaction.

Is there a storefront or may I pick up my order?
No, all orders are handled on a mail only basis.

Where do your fabrics come from and how do I know they are first quality?
We guarantee that all of our fabrics are purchased from the manufacturer as first quality goods. We do not purchase second runs or damaged goods. Due to the nature of cotton goods, even first quality goods can have minor flaws, so we make every effort to check every fabric cut before it is shipped.
